Safety Set Training

If you intend to become a licensed child care provider or want to be Oregon’s Depart of Human Services (DHS) approved to care for non-relative children, you will need the following training:

Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect

As a DHS listed child care provider, or a licensed provider through the Office of Child Care, you are considered a mandatory reporter of child abuse and neglect. That means you are required by law to report suspected abuse and neglect to the DHS Child Welfare Program. Free Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect training is available online 24/7 or you can call our office to learn about low cost in person training opportunities.

Introduction to Child Care Health & Safety

This course is designed to provide basic health and safety training for child care providers in Oregon and is available for free online.

Pediatric First Aid & CPR

Food Handler Certification

You can obtain a food handler card online or by calling our office for a packet for $10.

Safe Sleep for Oregon’s Infants

The goal of this training is to provide Early Educators with an opportunity to learn about safe sleep practices and to identify and prevent risks to the babies in your child care program. This self study is available for free online. You can also access a paper version by calling our office at 541.440.7705.
