Speech Language Pathologist (K-12) – Douglas ESD 

Douglas ESD is accepting applications for a Speech Language Pathologist.  This position serves the schools of
Douglas County, and the location of this position is subject to change. 190 days per year, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day. 
JOB SUMMARY: Provide comprehensive assessment, therapy, and consultation services in the area of communication disorders.

STARTING SALARY: $51,815 – $80,529 per year ($272.71 – $423.84 per day or $34.09 – $52.98 per hour) Dependent upon relevant verifiable experience

DUTIES:

  • Analyzes the effectiveness, appropriateness, and usefulness of strategies and practices used with students, parents, and staff.
  • Participates as a member of a team (IEP/IFSP, Placement, etc.) and assumes appropriate roles; leads, follows, and supports others in a productive manner.
  • Assesses students’ levels of functioning and their therapy needs.
  • Participates in development of IEP/IFSP for each eligible student.
  • Designs, implements, and supervises delivery of instructional programs to meet IEP/IFSP goals.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Requires a valid SLP license from the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology prior to the first day of employment, OR a Teachers Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) license that has an endorsement for either communication disorders or speech impairment.
