Early Learning Educator Resources
The Kindergarten Readiness Partnership and Innovation program (KPI) is a program of the South-Central Early Learning Hub and Douglas Education Service District.
There are 16 KPI programs statewide. KPI programs are responsible for supporting children and families in successful transitions from early learning into kindergarten through:
Building cross-sector system alignment between early learning programs and K-12 education through:
- Shared learning
- Shared understanding of inclusive, culturally relevant, and developmentally appropriate strategies
- Alignment of education standards
- Alignment of teaching and guidance practices with a focus on social-emotional and growth mindset strategies
Increased family engagement in children’s learning connecting families and schools focused on:
- Expanding family’s understanding of what it means to be “kindergarten ready.”
- Support for families as mutual partners in children’s learning and development
- Support for social-emotional approaches that focus on building resilient schools and homes
Current Activities
Early Learning Gatherings bring home visitors, the child care community, preschools, and kindergarten educators. They are developed and hosted by a regional collaboration of partners, including:
- Care Connections & Education,
- Klamath Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education,
- Klamath Community College
- Klamath Head Start
- UCAN Head Start
- Douglas Educational Instructional Services, Roseburg School District
- South-Central Early Learning Hub
- KPI.
The early learning gatherings are peer-driven and offer topics relevant to the work of educators in the three-county region.
