Family-friendly summit planned for employers

Feb. 24, 2024 – Business Champions for Kids, a program of Douglas Education Service District, is presenting a Family Friendly Employer Summit on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The summit will take place at Aviva Health’s new conference space at 150 NE Kenneth Ford Drive, Roseburg.

The summit will offer strategies and solutions that boost productivity, employee engagement and support caregiving responsibilities. Business leaders, employers and community members will explore their important roles in supporting working parents and improving childcare accessibility in Douglas County.

Investing in the well-being of our youngest residents and their working parents not only contributes to the vitality of Douglas County’s workforce and economy but also leads to positive returns on investments (ROI) for employers.

Representatives from Douglas County Government, Project Oasis in Yamhill County and Boardman Foods will share the best practices of their employer-backed childcare projects. A Q & A session with local childcare providers who work with employers will also be featured. The day will conclude with solutions employers can implement and resources to move forward. Plus, businesses and organizations will learn how to receive the Best Place for Working Parents® designation.

The summit is sponsored by Douglas ESD, Business Champions for Kids, Douglas County Childcare Coalition, Aviva Health, CHI Mercy Health, CHI Mercy Foundation, Roseburg Forest Products, Lone Rock Resources, Southwestern Workforce Investment Board (SOWIB) and Express Employment Professionals.

The cost to attend is $35 per person. Morning refreshments and lunch included. For individual and group registrations, please visit https://bit.ly/Biz4KidSummit2024. For more information, please contact Robin Van Winkle at Robin.VanWinkle@douglasesd.k12.or.us
