On Oct. 12 Douglas ESD’s Safe Routes to School is planning a Walk & Roll to School Day in celebration of National Walk & Roll to School Day. This event encourages students to walk, bike and roll to school.
The event is geared for students in grades K-12 and their families, which includes virtual and homeschool students. If students don’t live near a school, they are invited to participate for twenty minutes a day in a safe alternative location such as a neighborhood or park.
All participants should follow bicycle and pedestrian safety guidelines and are encouraged to participate with a friend or family member. Elementary-aged children and younger should have a responsible caregiver accompany them along their safe route to school.

Participants who complete will be entered into our grand prize drawing for a new bike or pair of athletic shoes. Names will be drawn on Friday, Oct. 14 and prize winners will be contacted via email.
