Sept. 29, 2021—From Oct. 4 – 8, Douglas ESD’s Safe Routes to School has partnered with Oregon Safe Routes to School and Blue Zones Project Umpqua to sponsor Walk ‘n Roll to School Week and Walk ‘n Roll to Anywhere Week to encourage students to walk, bike and roll to school or in their community.

The weeklong events are planned for students in grades K-12 and their families, which includes in-person, distance learning and homeschool students.

All participants should follow bicycle and pedestrian safety guidelines and are encouraged to participate with a friend or family member.

Participants are encouraged to log their daily activity at https://bit.ly/VirtualWalkRoll for a chance to win prizes such as include a book bundle to their school library, bike or athletic shoes. There also prizes for participating adults.
