Temporary High School Science Teacher – Yoncalla School District

Yoncalla School District is seeking a full time teacher beginning in the fall of 2023. This position will include teaching Science to high school and middle school students in the afternoon. The district is open to other endorsements, such as, but not limited to, Art, Drama, Language Arts, Middle School Multiple Subjects.

Primary Function: To provide a quality instructional program designed to meet the current and unique needs of high school and middle school students.

Major responsibilities and duties:

  • Model behavioral and instructional practices expected of students during duty hours.
  • Plan curriculum based on best practices, student needs, and academic abilities.
  • Cooperate with the principal and other teachers to provide the best possible education for each pupil.
  • Maintain continuous student record keeping as specified by state standards.
  • Provide information that helps students work towards passing the requirements for entrance into college.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Teaching Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Teaching License
  • Classroom teaching experience

  • Ability to function as a member of a team and to work as a team member, harmoniously and cooperatively with professional staff and the school community
  • Ability to work effectively, cooperatively and respectfully with staff, parents, students and community members.
  • Ability to recognize sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Prepare and distribute required reports
  • Observe and evaluate student’s performance.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved Conscious Discipline methods

Salary Range: $41,336 – $69,802
