SALARY: $3,500 stipend

POSITION OVERVIEW
Student Affinity Group Leaders will support and facilitate groups of students who have a shared identity such as being a member of the LGBTQ+ community, a person of color, impacted by trauma, or other traditionally marginalized groups that might benefit from participation in an affinity space.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, implement and lead successful student affinity groups
Connect with students who have a variety of diverse backgrounds
Facilitate discussion and activities for students that lead to an increased sense of belonging
Communicate regularly with the coordinator
Be accessible for on-going informal support and consultation.
Perform other responsibilities and duties as required by the position or as directed by the coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Committed to supporting students with their growth and well-being.
  • Experience supervising groups of students
  • Responsive to student need
  • Ability to listen to, respect, connect with, and lead a wide variety of students with diverse backgrounds
  • Has demonstrated ability to manage and monitor student behavior
  • Is knowledgeable of and committed to implementing culturally responsive practices
  • Think systematically about one’s own practice and learning from experience
  • May need to be able to meet during school hours and will require travel to and from sites of Affinity Groups
