THE OPPORTUNITY
Glendale SD is seeking qualified applicants for a High School Counselor.  The School Counselor coordinates a comprehensive guidance and counseling program for all students in the district based on the Oregon Framework for School Counseling Programs and its components (Guidance Curriculum, Individual Planning, Responsive Services, System Support, and Student Advocacy) and provides services to all students in the academic, career, community involvement and personal/social domains in concert with school staff, parents, the community and the students themselves. The School Counselor also assists students in dealing with special problems and needs as well as the development of personal/social behaviors.

LOCATION
Glendale School District is a small, pleasant school in rural Glendale, Oregon located along the I-5 corridor just 27 minutes from Grants Pass, Oregon and 47 minutes from Roseburg, Oregon.  We invite you to join the Glendale School District where the staff collaborate and partner together to help every student succeed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicant must hold or qualify for an Oregon Counseling Certificate from TSPC.
  • Desire and ability to work with a team of professional educators in a small/rural school.
  • Experience working with diverse groups.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exhibit professionalism and effective human relations.
  • Standard First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification within two months of hire, may be required.
  • A positive role model for the school/community.
