East Primary School Principal (Grades P – 2)

The Position

The Sutherlin School District seeks an outstanding candidate for the position of East Primary Principal.  The principal has the administrative responsibility for approximately 300 students and 58 staff.  Other responsibilities include successfully leading, directing, and supervising personnel and programs; creating effective parent, teacher, and student communications; student supervision and fostering a positive student climate.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current Oregon Administrative License (or the ability to acquire one by 7/2024).

  • Successful certified and administrative experience.

  • Demonstrate skill and leadership in the management of personnel.

  • Experience with school improvement and staff development programs.

  • Demonstrate understanding of Oregon and Federal educational laws and regulations.

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with PBIS and RTI.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Classroom teaching experience (minimum of five years of experience as an educator preferred).

  • Knowledge of elementary school environment.

  • Understanding of current trends in education.

  • Demonstrated understanding of teaching and learning best practices.

Salary              $90,797 – $103,813 (2023-2024 current salary schedule)            210 days
