Under supervision of the Maintenance Director perform routine maintenance, grounds keeping, routine cleaning and other related tasks at the elementary, middle, or high school.
Positions in this classification are members of the school maintenance crew. Duties of positions in the classification are usually performed under supervision, although some routine duties may be performed independently.

The applicant chosen for this position will be required to be fingerprinted for criminal history check in compliance with ORS 674 and OAR 581-22-716.

LOCATION: Glendale High School

SALARY & BENEFITS: $15.59 – $18.52 Per Bargaining Agreement

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 21 / 22 School Year

HOURS: 4 hours + 2 hours ESSER Funded


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some experience in maintenance, grounds keeping, and carpentry work desired.


  • Operate lawn mowers and weed eaters
  • Use backpack leaf blower for extended periods of time
  • Use backpack weed sprayer
  • Use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency
  • Use various power tools
  • Perform heavy physical labor
  • Climb step ladders and extension ladders
  • Understand and carry out oral or written instructions
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees and the general public
  • Possess an appropriate and valid Oregon driver’s license


  • Mow district lawns regularly
  • Weed eat district grounds regularly
  • Set up and move irrigation daily in the summer
  • Blow off parking lots and sidewalks
  • Pressure wash buildings and sidewalks
  • Clean up and dispose of leaves
  • Change HVAC filters at scheduled intervals
  • Assist the Maintenance Director with small construction projects
  • Spray pesticides to control weed throughout the district
  • Assist in moving or rearranging chairs, tables, desks, furniture and other equipment
  • Replace light bulbs
  • Perform special work upon request of staff members
  • Make minor maintenance repairs to furniture
  • Report safety, sanitary, fire hazard and needed maintenance to supervisor
  • Assist in the complete cleaning and routine maintenance of buildings and grounds during summer vacation spring break, and winter break
  • Remove graffiti as required
  • Empty and clean outside waste containers
  • Clean outside restrooms
  • Pickup papers and other refuge on grounds
  • May perform routine grounds keeping, maintenance, painting and such other duties assumed or assigned within the usual scope of this employment
  • Fulfill other related duties as assumed or assigned
  • Be capable and willing to substitute as a at the elementary if needed
