The Umpqua Valley STEAM Hub and the Douglas ESD are joining forces to offer a countywide STEAM work group, set to meet monthly starting Oct. 26. (As a reminder, STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering and math, with artful innovation integrating the disciplines.)
The workshop is designed for local leaders in STEAM education who would like to share, learn and promote what they and others are doing around the county. All meetings will be held at the Douglas ESD. They are tentatively set to take place from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m.
Registration information is here, along with the monthly 2017-18 schedule. Because workshops will be conducted in small groups of about eight to 13 members, participants are encouraged to register early.
Organizers said each workshop will led by different member, who will share insights and expertise with the group. Snacks will be available, and participants can earn professional development units.
