Oct. 7, 2019 - The Kindergarten Readiness Partnership & Innovation program will host three informational sessions around the region this month on Growing Early Mindsets, featuring Oregon author Dr. Kendra Coates.
Growing Early Mindsets is a PreK-3rd grade literacy-based teaching and learning framework and curriculum that integrates growth mindset, social and emotional learning (SEL), and mindfulness from Mindset Works, the global leader in growth mindset.
Coates, the author of “Growing Early Mindsets™ (GEM™),” is a learner, mom, educator, author, consultant and coach. Coates has 20 years of PreK-12 teaching and leadership experience. She serves as regional director of P-3rd education for Central Oregon.
The three sessions will be:
- 4:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 15 at Lakeview High School - Room 425, 906 S. 3rd St., Lakeview.
- 4:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at Southern Oregon ESD, 2685 Foothills Blvd., Klamath Falls.
- 4:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 17 at Douglas ESD, 1871 NE Stephens St., Roseburg.
The informational sessions will provide an opportunity to ask questions and give consideration to participation in the two-day KPI GEM Institute that will be held in January.
