Learn about WGU's online teaching degree program

April 18, 2019 - The Douglas Education Service District will host an information session with Western Governors University about the school’s online teaching degree program from 5 to 6 p.m. May 16 at the Roseburg Public Library.

A representative from WGU will come to talk to those who are interested in earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree in teaching.

WGU offers over 15 bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the field, including a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Arts in Special Education, and a Master of Arts in Teaching of Elementary Education.

WGU is also one of the most affordable online colleges in the country.

Douglas ESD Human Resources Director Holly Hill says it’s not only a great opportunity for Douglas County residents to start a career, but also for those looking to become community leaders.

“Many magnificent patrons reside in Douglas County,” Hill said. “For those who are interested in teaching as a career, we would like to help place them in a teaching program to obtain a teaching position in Douglas County.”

WGU's Teachers College is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation, the only recognized national accreditor for educator preparation.
