Who We Are

South-Central Early Learning Hub

The South-Central Early Learning Hub began in February 2014. Its purpose is to develop a coordinated, effective system of early learning services that equip young children with needed skills for success in school and in life. Working closely with community based partnership, the Hub is creating a collective impact model that focuses on shared goals, strategies and outcomes and recognizes the importance of how partners, working together, promote stable and attached families.

Douglas ESD is the backbone of our organization providing our office location and our business, technical, and support services.

Development of a Regional Equity Lens

We are centering our work to include diversity, equity, and inclusion. The South-Central Early Learning Hub as been fortunate to work with Capacity building Partnerships. Over the past two years, we have continue our learning in diversity, equity and inclusion to support equity-centered action.

Early Learning Hub partners began working on the South-Central Early Learning Hub Equity Lens and will

continue the process into the next fiscal year. The Equity Lens will be used as a guide in planning and

decision-making for equitable access to Early Learning Hub program. Read more about Equity Lens.

Community Events
The South-Central Early Learning Hub engaged the community in a variety of modalities in all three counties at community events. We participate in community events to boost awareness of the Early Learning Hub, listen to the needs of families, build rapport, and distribute information on access to early childhood programs.

Our Vision

The vision for early learning services embraces families, early childhood professionals, schools, business and faith leaders, healthcare providers, and others working in partnership to:

Assure services and supports are readily accessible.
Employ evidence-based/promising practices and innovative approaches that lead to improved outcomes for young children and their families.
Address the cultural and linguistic needs of at-risk and traditionally underserved young children and their families.
Collect data for community analysis, which will ultimately lead to better accountability for early learning and family support services.

South-Central Early Learning Hub works with its partners to coordinate services in the geographic region of Douglas, Klamath, and Lake counties. The Hub is working closely with core service providers in Douglas, Klamath, and Lake Counties and Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians and The Klamath Tribes.

Providers include coordinated care organizations, private physicians, health alliances, county public health agencies, Department of Human Services, K-12 school administrators, county ESDs, relief nurseries, early learning providers, child care resource and referral programs, county housing programs, community actions programs, local community colleges, county mental health programs, parenting hubs, local Boys and Girls Clubs, counseling centers, YMCAs, alcohol and drug prevention, county commissioners and faith-based groups.
