ADMIN Strand Trainings 2016-2017

The purpose of the Administrator STRAND is to support school leaders administrative needs.  The range of topics will be instructional leadership, personnel & labor, student safety, and legal.

2016 Future Administrator Academy "Thinking of becoming an Administrator?"

These workshops will focus on teachers who are interested in acquiring an initial administration license. 
The four sessions will occur quarterly at the Douglas ESD from 4:00 – 6:00.

  • January 11, 2017    4:00-6:00pm at Douglas ESD
  • February 6, 2017   4:00-6:00pm at Douglas ESD
  • May 9, 2017   4:00-6:00pm at Douglas ESD

Featuring topics including:

  • 11 Factors of Servant Leadership – Larry C. Spears

  • Levels of School Effectiveness – Robert Marzano

Purpose of Academy:

  • To support teachers in acquiring skills to be an effective school leader.

  • To support teachers in deepening their knowledge about school administration.

2016 Administrator Academy "Intentional Leadership"

  • November 1, 2016  1:00-3:00pm at Douglas ESD
  • February 7, 2017   8:30-10:30am at Douglas ESD
  • April 19, 2017   1:00-4:00pm at TBD
  • June 19, 2017   8:30-11:00am at Douglas ESD

These workshops will be two to three hours in length and cover a variety of topics. Future dates and times will be discussed and scheduled at this time.

Purpose of Academy:

  • To support principals, special education, and instructional administrators in creating great schools and helping students succeed.

  • To enhance ability to lead schools in high performance.

  • To create a network that supports administrators beyond their district.
