UPDATE: Information night on creation of a local teacher training program set for March 23

Pacific University is coming to Roseburg this month to hold an informational session on beginning a local teacher training program in Douglas County.

The session is 5 p.m., Thursday, March 23 at the Douglas Education Services District office, 1871 NE Stephens St., Roseburg.

This info session would discuss the program possibilities offered by Pacific University if there is enough interest to start one or more programs in Douglas County.

Openings for specialists open for coming school year

We're hiring! Specialists are needed to work with youth in Southern Oregon for the 2016-17 school year. The Douglas Education Service District has immediate openings for a speech-language pathologist, physical therapist and a school psychologist.

Specialists in these positions play pivotal roles to help break down and remove barriers to education for students with disabilities.

Candidates for these jobs will work with children from infants to 21-year-olds throughout our service region, which includes 13 school districts in rural Douglas County.
