  • Learn360 is an educational video streaming service with some great resources for teachers including lesson plans and quizzes. All Douglas County teachers have access to this through an ESD subscription. Teachers can go to the Douglas ESD website > Educators > Video Streaming to access the content.

JUNE 2017

***STEAM Summer Institute Registration - Choose from a menu of STEAM-related Professional Development opportunities during the week of Monday, August 14-Friday, August 18. You may register for as many workshops as you choose.
The first 25 educators registered will receive a Starbucks gift card!
Educators will receive at $100 stipend for each workshop session they attend.
Starred workshop will include additional resources for implementation in your setting, such as: memberships, books, or materials. Click here for course descriptions and to register.

NEW!  2017 Instructional Materials Evaluation Recruitment - Please visit the Announcements and Notices webpage on the Instructional Materials page to find out more information on what committee member participation will require. To nominate a teacher or other professional for this opportunity, please follow the link to the 2017 Health & Physical Education Instructional Materials Reviewer Nomination Form.

Participation on this committee will require: 

  • Attending 1-2 days of training on July 17th and 18th in the Salem area.  

  • Completing 6-8 hours of independent work over two weeks prior to Review Week. 

  • Attending 3-4 days of review sessions in August. (Date and location are TBD)

***Advanced Placement PD Opportunity Registration is now open for Oregon's only AP Institute, offered by the High Desert Education Service District and Central Oregon Community College.  August 15, -18, 2017 in Bend, Oregon.  Click here for more information and to register.

***OHSU Research & Simulation Experience - Now Open to All Science Teachers Lane ESD is pleased to announce another summer professional development opportunity for Oregon Health Science teachers.  Participants will also receive a $500 allowance for their Health Science program.  Click here for more information and to register.

Parenting a Second Time Around (PSTA) for relative caregivers of children birth to 15 years of age, April 11 to May 30, 2017 at Douglas County YMCA.

Nurturing Parenting April 12 to June 14, 2017 at Winchester Elementary School, Roseburg.
