Parenting Hub to expand beyond Douglas County

Release Date:
6/8/2016

The Oregon Community Foundation has awarded the Douglas Education Service District’s Parenting Education Hub a $100,000 grant that will allow the hub to expand services into Klamath and Lake counties.

The Parenting Education Hub provides workshops and free classes for parents on a variety of topics, including self-care, taming children’s tantrums and cultivating early learning skills. Most courses are designed for universal audiences, but some series are geared to populations such as Spanish-speaking parents and adults raising their grandchildren.

The grant is part of the Oregon Parenting Education Collaborative, which aims to help strengthen Oregon’s families. The award is also part of a multi-year initiative developed by The Oregon Community Foundation in partnership with four other philanthropies.
