Sponsors sought for March car show and benefit

Release Date:
2/1/2016

The Special Materials Fund is seeking sponsors for the Umpqua Flatheads' Roseburg Benefit Car Show, to be held March 12 and 13 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Sponsorship includes two admission tickets to the show and an invitation to the car club's end-of-year picnic.

Suggested donation for the sponsorship is $50. Show proceeds benefit the Special Materials Fund and United Community Action Network.

The Special Materials Fund is used to assist families who have children with special needs with the purchase of needed equipment and supplies. An advisory committee, comprised exclusively of parents who have children with disabilities themselves, reviews all requests and makes all final decisions regarding the use of these funds.

100 percent of the donations made to the Special Materials Fund go directly to helping Douglas County families and children. Once purchased, the equipment becomes the property of the child and their family. Equipment in good condition that is no longer useful to the child can be returned and redistributed to another child in need.

Funds have been used to provide an array of items including, iPad apps, helmets, leg braces, a scooter and standing frame.

If you're interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact Michelle Wagner at 541-440-4794 or michelle.wagner@douglasesd.k12.or.us.
